2018 Annual Report

Message from Chief Executive Officer

Dear Friends,

Twenty years ago, with the help of close family and friends, I started the National Minority Quality Forum (Forum).  This non-profit, Washington, DC based health care research and education organization had and continues to have the mission to strengthen the ability of communities, clinicians and policy makers to eliminate health disparities to build sustainable healthy communities.  The Forum would do this through the use of evidence-based, data driven initiatives.

Five years later, to achieve an even better understanding of the disparities impacting all communities, the Forum organized its first-ever Summit on Health Disparities and the Spring Health Braintrust.  The Summit brought–and continues to bring leaders across the health care continuum to discuss solutions to health care disparities.  In 2018 alone, there were over 700 attendees at the Annual Summit and remarks from our Booker T. Washington Award Winner, Surgeon General Jerome Anderson, Dr. Charles Richard Drew Awardee, Congresswoman Maxine Waters and Lifetime Achievement Award Winners Congressman John Lewis and Kenneth C. Frazier.

The National Minority Quality Forum continues to expand footprint and impact the community.  This year we added another group of distinguished leaders into the fold with the Top 40 Under 40 Minority Leaders in Healthcare.  Additionally, together with civic, professional, educational and religious organizations, the Forum has hosted Community Health & Wellness Clinics nationwide directly providing health services for thousands across the nation and are tackling the way medical solutions are delivered with our program on Thought Leaders in Precision Medicine.  Finally, in keeping with our commitment to data driven solutions, we have over 5 billion patient records.

I invite you to review this annual report and see just a small snapshot of the work that we do.  I look forward to hearing from you and learning how we can work together to build sustainable healthy communities.

Thank you!
